Citroen C3 Spotted No Camouflage: To Be Launched This Year?

The Citroen C3 has been spotted without camouflage finally, leading to speculation that the French automaker is close to launching its next offering in the Indian market. The Citroen C3 is a compact SUV offered by the automaker and Citroen's second offering in the country after the C5 Aircross. Citroen C3 Looks 

The Citroen C3 is a sub-four metre SUV offering by the French brand and is a part of Citroen's C-Cubed program for the Indian market. Under this program, Citroen plans to launch a car every year till 2023 in India, with the C3 being the slated launch for this year. 

Talking about the Citroen C3's external features, the compact SUV gets a design sensibility that follows the Citroen design language as seen in the C5. The front sports a unique split headlight setup with dual DRLs that combine into the hood's chrome grille. The main headlight setup is a bumper mounted one for both high and low beams. 

Along the compact SUV's lines, the Citroen gets SUV-style plastic cladding, roof rails and standard door handles.

While the rear end gets a large Citroen badging, SUV style plastic cladding and premium-looking LED tail-lights. The C3 looks rather muscular with appropriately muscular fender lines and flairs. 

The Citroen C3 will most likely get dual colour options, with the ORVMs getting the dual-tone colour scheme as well. Dual-tones for the roof are likely to include two colours - Artense Grey and Zesty Orange. The interior is likely to carry a dual-tone theme with Zesty Orange being a dominant colour on the interior, at least on certain variants if not all of them.

Citroen C3 Engine Specifications

Power duties in the Citroen C3 are expected to be given to a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine. The Citroen C3 may even get a turbocharged petrol and a diesel-powered variant. Transmission options may include a manual and an automatic, with the latter possibly being a torque converter transmission.

Verdict

The Citroen C3 will be a compelling offering in India, fitting itself properly within the compact SUV segment in the country, currently a rather popular segment. While Citroen is looking into hybrid and electric versions of the C3 for the international market, it is unlikely those would reach our shores any time soon. When launched, the Citroen C3 can go against the likes of the Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue and other offerings in the compact SUV segment. Tiago CNG: What to expect?

The Indian market is one that loves getting the full value of every buck spent. Hence, you can understand the horror when petrol prices went over three-digits, dragging diesel prices with it too. This is where CNG comes in. It’s an undefeated favorite amongst cab aggregators, three-wheelers and even private players looking for an economic daily driver. One of the reasons that make the Tata Tiago CNG an anticipated entrant in the CNG ecosystem is because once launched, it will become only the third manufacturer to offer a CNG kit from the factory after Maruti and Hyundai. While the former offers the WagonR CNG, Hyundai has the Grand i10 Nios CNG in its portfolio.

Tata Tiago CNG Features

In the middle of all the speculations, the Tata Tiago CNG has been spotted outside a dealership without any camouflage and according to the picture, it looks like a mid-spec trim that carries an ‘i’-CNG’ lettering on the boot lid to differentiate it from its fossil-fuel powered sibling. Apart from the lettering, no other badging helps identify if the Tiago CNG will be offered with the XT or the XZ variant. Although, it does look like that a touchscreen infotainment system will be on offer and to keep the price tag in check, Tata will not offer alloy wheels with the same.

Tata Tiago CNG Price

As the Tata Tiago is part of a very price-sensitive segment, the homegrown conglomerate could place the Tata Tiago CNG price anywhere between Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 90,000 over the standard Tiago that retails between Rs. 4.99 lakh and Rs. 7.07 lakh, both prices ex-showroom. If we place it along with the competition, Tata Tiago CNG rivals the Maruti Suzuki WagonR CNG priced at Rs. 5.89 lakh, ex-showroom whereas the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG price starts at Rs. 7.06 lakh, exshowroom for the Magna 1.2 Kappa VTVT CNG variant.
