What is apparent from the spy shots is the new 2022 WagonR's uncanny similarities to its outgoing variant.
This leads to the belief that the new WagonR's cosmetic updates are rather
mild. Design-wise, the new WagonR
may only be getting a new front grille. However cosmetically, the 2022 WagonR is slated to receive a
blacked-out roof, which makes it likely that the new WagonR will get dual-tone colour schemes. Other cosmetics
possibly include a new set of alloy wheels and new colour options as well.
The spy shots haven't revealed any changes to the
interior of the 2022 WagonR.
However, it is likely that the interior may get new upholstery to refresh the
cabin look. The car may also get an updated infotainment system.
Baleno's Engine in
the WagonR?
While the present version of the WagonR
gets a 1.0-litre three-cylinder and 1.2-litre four-cylinder options,
information suggests that Maruti Suzuki may swap the 1.2-litre four-pot for one that did duties
in the Baleno. This is the 90hp, 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine with
mild-hybrid tech that could possibly do duties in the new WagonR. That would mean the 1.2-litre WagonR could get a significant
power boost from the outgoing variant's 83bhp.
Other than this, the new WagonR could also get a CNG variant for its 1.2-litre motor,
while the 1.0-litre motor's CNG variant is slated to continue.
