Maruti Suzuki Baleno Facelift Launch Soon: What to Expect

Maruti Suzuki's Baleno has been around a minute and has carved itself quite a niche. It’s been significantly popular and is launching possibly next month in an all-updated avatar. The new and improved Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will get updates mostly to the exterior, while also getting a few changes inside. Mechanically, however, the Baleno will most likely remain the same. Read on for more information on the upcoming Baleno facelift.

Baleno's Facelifted Exterior

The Baleno facelift has been spotted around town, as well as in pictures and spy shots, making the changes to its exterior quite apparent. The most obvious change to the Baleno's front fascia is an all-new eye-lid style lip on top of the car's headlights that extends across the front end. The car also sports a wider front air dam and new, sleeker headlights with integrated DRLs that extend to the sides. The sides are shod with new dual-tone alloy wheels, and the rear fascia looks wider with all-new taillights and a redesigned bumper.

Updated on the Inside

The Baleno is slated to get an updated cabin sporting redesigned air-conditioning vents and an all-new infotainment touchscreen in the centre. The car may also get a sportier flat-bottomed steering wheel. Safety features may receive updates as well. The interior of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is also expected to be garbed in an all-new dual-tone colour scheme of black and silver. Other interior updates are speculated to include a new instrument cluster, steering wheel integrated controls, cruise control and a start-stop button to name a few.

Mechanically the Same

While the looks and creature-comforts of the Baleno are undergoing an overhaul, the powertrain configurations of the Baleno will most likely remain the same. This means that the Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engine putting down 83PS and 113Nm, with its DualJet option that puts down 90PS and 113Nm. Gearbox options will remain unchanged as well, with a five-speed manual and automatic CVT on offer.

Verdict

The upcoming Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift will definitely be an improvement over its outgoing predecessor, in the looks and feel department that is. The current variant of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno is priced starting at ₹6.14 lakhs (Ex-Showroom). We expect the pricing of the facelifted Baleno to be similar, with a minor premium over the current variant.
