2022 Maruti WagonR: Price
The 2022 Maruti Suzuki WagonR has been launched at a starting price of
Rs. 5.40 lakh for the base 1.0-litre LXI variant with the range-topping ZXI+
dual-tone automatic variant tagged at Rs. 7.10 lakh. The WagonR now gets alloy wheels in the top-end variant and for the
first time ever, in an attempt to up its style quotient, it gets dual-tone body
color options. The dual-tone colour options are – Red with a Black roof and
Grey with a Black roof.
Additionally, the 2022
Maruti Suzuki WagonR can be owned on a subscription basis starting at Rs.
12,300 per month.
2022 Maruti WagonR: Engine
The changes are not just skin
deep as the new Maruti Suzuki WagonR
gets a change in the engine department as well. Although it retains the same
engine, it gets a more advanced engine head and even features the DualJet
system. The 1.0-litre trim now churns 66bhp which is 1bhp less than before.
Furthermore, the CNG variant of the 2022
WagonR produces 2bhp less than before at 56bhp.
There’s also a 1.2-litre engine
that also gets the Dualjet head and has a bump in power output by 7bhp. This
engine now produces 89bhp. Both engines are paired with the option of an AMT
making it a very sought-after offering for the Indian market. However, when it
comes to the CNG variant, it is only available with a manual gearbox.

Features
The top-of-the-line ZXi+ variant
of the WagonR gets a 7.0-inch
touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
connectivity. It runs on the carmaker’s latest version of the Smartplay studio.
It also gets USB and AUX connectivity, four speakers, steering mounted controls
and voice control, etc, through the Suzuki connect App.
For safety, all variants of the 2022 Maruti Suzuki WagonR get dual
front airbags, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. The VXi trim and above
get upwards hill-hold assist in the AMT-enabled versions as standard.

Rivals
The 2022 Maruti WagonR is priced between Rs. 5.39 lakh to Rs. 7.10
lakh, ex-showroom and it rivals the Tata Tiago, the Hyundai Santro apart from
competing with its sibling, the Maruti
Suzuki Celerio. Also, in a price-sensitive market like India, even entry
variants of the Hyundai Grand i10, Maruti Suzuki Swift, and the Renault Triber will compete with the
latest tall-hatchback.
