Tata Punch Specifications -
Tata Motors, the Indian car manufacturer, is prospering in the
passenger vehicle segment. Not long ago, the Indian automobile saw several cars
launched by the carmaker. Last year, in October 2021, Tata Motors introduced
the Tata Punch. Since its launch, the Tata Punch has enjoyed a fair bit of
success on the market. At present, the Tata Punch is available with a petrol
engine. But the Tata Punch might get options like turbo-petrol, diesel, and EV
spec sometime soon.
As per sources, the 2022 iteration of the Tata Punch specifications might receive both the turbo-petrol and diesel units.
In addition, the Tata Punch may come with a DCA gearbox as well. Customers can
expect the Tata Altroz's turbo-petrol and diesel engines in the Tata Punch. The
Altroz has a 1.5-litre Revotorq diesel engine that generates 88bhp and 200Nm of
torque. It may be exclusive to a manual gearbox only.
And as for the 1.2-litre turbo-petrol, the Altroz has an output
of 108bhp and 140Nm of torque.
As for the dual-clutch automatic (DCA) transmission, the Tata
Altroz gets that as an optional transmission. So, you can expect the same
gearbox in the Tata Punch. The Punch has a standard five-speed manual and an
AMT gearbox at present.
As for the current powertrain offering, the ARAI-claimed mileage
of the Tata Punch is 18.97kmpl. Also, you may check out the driving experience
explained by the autoX team here, Tata Punch review.
The Punch has received a positive response from users for its
practicality, looks, and off-road abilities, boasting a ground clearance of
187mm. The Tata Punch's ground clearance is just 3mm lower than the Hyundai
Creta's 180mm.
However, you might be confused about its off-roading abilities.
Yes, it is capable. Thanks to the Traction Pro Mode feature, which is only
available in the AMT variant. This feature detects the traction difference
between the front wheels, which then applies the brakes to the wheel, getting
less traction and sending power to the other wheel. More or less, it's like an LSD
(Limited Slip Differential).
Tata Punch: Features
The micro-SUV has a long list of new-age offerings. The Tata
Punch features a projector headlamp setup with LED DRLs, auto-headlights,
rain-sensing wipers, a cooled glove box, powered ORVMs, etc. Apart from that,
it gets a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, a semi-digital driver's
display, automatic climate control, and power windows, to name a few. However,
features will vary from variant to variant. If you are planning to buy the
top-spec Tata Punch, click on the Tata Punch review.
As for standard safety features, the Tata Punch boasts ABS with
EBD, dual airbags, brake sway control, reverse parking camera with sensors,
etc. Speaking of safety, the Global NCAP awarded a five-star rating for the
Tata Punch's safety test. Compared to its direct rivals, the Tata Punch is the
safest vehicle so far.
Closing Words
The Tata Punch is available in four trims: Pure, Adventure,
Accomplished, and Creative. The Kaziranga edition is exclusive to the top trim,
Creative. The Tata Punch's price starts at Rs 5.83 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi)
and goes up to Rs 9.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, a few variants of
the Renault Kiger and the Nissan Magnite can be considered at the Tata Punch's
price.
Currently, the Tata Punch directly rivals the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and the Maruti Ignis. For the latest four-wheeler reviews, head to "car reviews" under the "reviews" category on the autoX homepage.
