Upcoming Cars in India 2022 | Upcoming Cars - autoX

Patrons are waiting for more options in the market. New cars mean an array of options in terms of body style and alternate fuel type. Considering the trend, people are looking forward to EVs and SUVs, whether they’re compact or sub-compact. However, there are upcoming cars in India that are mostly expected in mid-2022. Here are a few of the most awaited cars of 2022.

The Skoda Slavia’s sibling, the Volkswagen Virtus, is one of the most awaited cars in 2022. It will be the longest car in its class and is 20mm longer than the Skoda Slavia. As per reports, it will be offered in two trims: Dynamic Line and Performance Line. The Volkswagen Virtus will get two petrol engines on offer: a 1.0-litre TSI engine as well as a 1.5-litre TSI engine. VW Group has confirmed its launch on June 9th, 2022. It is expected to have a starting price of around ₹10 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

HYUNDAI TUCSON

The fourth generation of the Hyundai Tucson is expected to be seen on Indian roads. In India, there are limited options in the premium SUV market. The Hyundai Tucson will compete against the Jeep Compass, Citroen C5 Aircross, and the Volkswagen T-Roc. It is expected to be powered by the same powertrain as the outgoing model. However, there are no reports on its launch date, but it’s expected within this year. The Hyundai Tucson is expected to cost around ₹25 Lakhs (ex-showroom).

CITROEN C3

Citroen will make a foray into the sub-4m segment by launching the Citroen C3. It will compete with the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, and Maruti Suzuki Ignis. As per reports, there will be no diesel engine on offer. The Citroen C3 could be priced similarly to its competitors. Patrons can expect the car to be launched in mid-2022.

TATA ALTROZ EV

One of the most anticipated upcoming cars to date. The electric hatchback may be launched in August 2022. The Tata Altroz EV will fall between the Tata Tigor EV and the Tata Nexon EV. The expected starting price will be at least ₹10 Lakhs, ex-showroom.

VITARA BREZZA

The Maruti Vitara Brezza might be rebadged as the Brezza in the upcoming generation. Since it will be of a new generation, the sub-4m will receive a complete makeover. As per reports on the web, the new Brezza might get a coveted sunroof, which would be offered for the first time by Maruti Suzuki. It is expected to be seen in August 2022. The expected starting price is around ₹8 Lakhs, ex-showroom.
