Tata Cars | Tata cars Price - autoX

 Tata Blackbird Features

Tata might go all out with this one in terms of features and offer a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, a large touchscreen infotainment system, with wireless AppleCarPlay and Android Auto complemented by a new surround system, ambient lighting and a multi-function steering wheel.

Tata knows how to build a safe car and its bejewelled Global NCAP ratings say the same. So, expect the Blackbird’s safety to be 4-5 starred as well. Currently, Tata has three 5-star safety rated cars by Global NCAP – the Tata Punch, Altroz and Nexon. The Tiago/Tigor duo holds 4 stars as well.

Just like its siblings, the Tata Blackbird is expected to get six airbags, ABS with EBD and ESP, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system, etc.

 Tata Blackbird

The Tata Blackbird is the carmaker’s upcoming mid-size SUV that will be positioned between the Nexon and the Harrier in the line-up. It will be 4.3m long and is expected to be available in the Indian market by 2023.

Tata Blackbird Design

The Tata Blackbird will follow the design language of its elder sibling, the Harrier, so be ready for a split headlight set-up with LED daytime running lights on the top and the headlights placed at the bottom of the bumper. A new alloy wheel design is expected for the Blackbird to keep the design a little fresh and new despite the inspiration from its siblings.

Tata Blackbird Powertrain

Although Tata is very tight-lipped about the SUV’s mechanics, the Tata Blackbird is expected to be offered with two engine options – A 1.2-litre turbo petrol unit and a 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel mill. It is expected that the petrol will produce 129 bhp and 185 Nm of peak torque, the diesel engine will churn 118 bhp and 270Nm of peak torque. A 6-speed manual gearbox will be offered with both engines while an automatic is unconfirmed.

Tata Blackbird Price

When it is offered in the Indian market, the Tata Blackbird rivals will include the Hyundai Creta, MG Astor, Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos and VW Taigun so the Tata Blackbird price is expected to be between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi.
