The Kia Sonet is one of the bestselling Kia cars in India. The platform that the Sonet carries underneath is identical to cars like the Hyundai i20, Alcazar, Verna, and Venue. Furthermore, there are Kia cars built on the same chassis, such as the Seltos, Carens, and others. This chassis has the badge of the Hyundai-Kia K Platform.
Besides that, the Korean carmaker added a new variant, the
X-Line, exclusive to the top-of-the-line trim, the GTX+. However, it is worth
mentioning that the X-Line has no added features over the GTX+ variant.
Additionally, this new variant has only turbo-petrol and diesel engines with
automatic transmission(s).
So, if you are planning to buy this sub-four-metre SUV, you
should know its offerings before making a purchase. Let's begin, then!
Under the Bonnet
As far as the Kia Sonet specifications are concerned, it has two
options for petrol: a naturally aspirated (NA) and a turbo-petrol engine. The
former gets a 1.2-litre NA unit that produces 83PS and 115Nm of torque. And the
latter has a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine that generates 120PS and 172Nm of
torque.
Then the third option comes with the 1.5-litre diesel engine
that produces 100PS and 240Nm of torque. The diesel mill gives that much power
with a manual gearbox. But if you opt for the automatic-diesel variant, it
makes 115PS and 250Nm of torque, making it better for fuel economy.
With these available engine options, the Kia Sonet's mileage
ranges between 18.2kmpl and 24.1kmpl. However, this car is available in manual,
iMT, and automatic transmissions.
Please note that the mileage of cars will vary with road and
traffic conditions. To check the Kia Sonet price, visit the autoX website.
Inside the Cabin
The Sonet has an array of offerings that will pamper you, be it
comfort or entertainment features. This popular sub-four-metre vehicle won't
let you feel any inadequacy. The top model of the Kia Sonet boasts a 10.25-inch
Bose-sourced touchscreen infotainment unit that supports Apple CarPlay and Android
Auto. Moreover, it also gets Kia-connected car technology with OTA updates and
voice recognition by saying, "Hello, Kia."
Furthermore, if you forget to take the USB for charging your
phone in your Kia Sonet, don't worry since this car has a wireless charger.
Now, let's get to the driver's side. There is no doubt that the
Sonet has always provided a plush interior, making it one of the bestselling
vehicles in India. First, you'll see a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering
wheel. Speaking of steering, it also gets steering-mounted controls through
which you can control a few entertainment features and can enable cruise
control.
Secondly, you'll see a small digital instrument cluster flanked
by analogue displays. Going further, the Kia Sonet features ventilated
seats, an air purifier, a sunglass holder, and auto HVAC, to name a few.

This sub-four-metre SUV has six different trims: HTE, HTK, HTK+,
