With reference to the title, the Mahindra XUV300 is an Indian version of the South Korean carmaker's SsangYong Tivoli. The body shape of the XUV300 is the same as the Tivoli. That said, they also share the same X100 platform. However, the Indian carmaker had to revamp the platform to make it Indian-market oriented. In addition, the indigenous carmaker modified the dimensions of the XUV300. It's wider and taller but shorter than the international spec of the Tivoli. The reason behind reducing the size of the vehicle was to make a foray into the sub-four-metre segment. Overall, both sub-compact SUVs have the same silhouette.
Further, since Mahindra and Mahindra introduced the XUV300 to
the popular segment, the sub-compact SUV has received an overwhelming response
from patrons and automotive journalists. If you are considering being the owner
of one of the bestselling Mahindra cars, below are a few details of
this sub-four-metre SUV.
Available Powertrains
As far as the specifications are concerned, the Mahindra XUV300
has both petrol and diesel engines. In this affordable segment, there are
limited offerings of diesel-powered vehicles. If you want better mileage than
the petrol unit, you can opt for a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 115bhp
and 300Nm of torque. Another offering is the 1.2-litre petrol unit that churns
out 108bhp and 200Nm of torque. The front wheels of the XUV300 receive
power via a standard six-speed manual and an optional AMT unit. Furthermore,
fuel economy should not be a big concern since most owners haven't complained
about the XUV300's mileage.
In addition, the upcoming sports iteration of this vehicle,
the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz, is all set to make a big entry on
October 7th, 2022. Customers can expect the XUV300 Sportz to come with a
retuned petrol engine that will produce more power and torque of 130bhp and
230Nm, respectively. The carmaker may distinguish the upcoming Sportz edition
from the rest by providing cosmetic changes and additional features.
Pricing
Currently, the XUV300 price starts at Rs 8.41
lakh for the base model, the XUV300 W4 MT Petrol, and goes up to Rs 14.07 lakh
for the top model, the XUV300 W8 AMT Diesel DT. Please note that these are
ex-showroom prices as of October 2022 and are subject to change without prior
announcement to the customers. But, for that, the autoX website
is always there to bring you an up-to-date price list of your dream vehicle.
Now, concerning the Sportz Edition, the Indian carmaker may
position the upcoming edition as the top-most variant.
As for its rivals, the XUV300 takes on the likes of the Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the Toyota Urban Cruiser, to name
a few.
